I Can Only See 5%... But I Climbed England's Highest Mountain | Race to See the Rise

Jo has Usher syndrome — a condition causing progressive deafblindness. At the time of this film, she had just 5% of her sight remaining. This is the story of what happened when she decided to climb Scafell Pike to see the sun rise on the summer solstice, one last time. Living with Usher syndrome means navigating a world built for people who can hear and see clearly — and it can be an incredibly isolating experience. But something changes when you step outside. When the only question is: can you take the next step? Jo, guided every foot of the way by her companions, did exactly that. Through boulder fields at 1am. Through darkness so complete she could see nothing. Through fear, exhaustion, and the very real possibility of turning back. And then — the solstice sunrise. We believe that nature isn't a luxury for the fit and able-bodied. It's a restorative force that belongs to all of us. This climb is what that looks like in practice.
