Sacrificing the 16th Maine Regiment at Gettysburg (w/guest Tim Smith) | History Traveler Episode 473

Much is made of the 20th Maine Regiment at Gettysburg (rightfully so) but many may not know the story of the 16th Maine on the first day of the battle. We're walking the ground where this ill fated regiment suffered over 80% casualties so that their division could escape to fight another day. With us is the legendary Tim Smith of the Adams County Historical Society to add an extra layer of depth to this story.
