In this part, we finally reach the Everest Base Camp after 20 long days on the trail. Our happiness knew no bounds, but there were troubles ahead. The third and last pass on the trail - the Kongma La was still hanging on the balance. . FYI, we didn't return in a heli. We walked to Lukla via Syomare and Namche, and caught a flight back to Kathmandu from there. A gentle reminder to add three extra days to your itinerary if you are hiking down to Lukla like us, in case you are still keeping track of the total number of days for EBC + Three Passes. .
