Impact of Emergency Buildings from Portakabin
On Friday 1 September, three days before pupils returned to Ellesmere Port Catholic High School for the start of a new term, the school was ordered to shut due to the discovery of dangerous Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete or RAAC in parts of their main school building. Determined to keep their students in face-to-face education, the school looked to relocate resources and rooms to meet the needs of the students so it would be able to open as planned on Tuesday 5 September but needed a quick, emergency solution for several departments to protect student learning in the long term. In their time of need, they turned to Portakabin.
