Welcome to Part 8 of our epic 50 Days for 50th Birthday Motorcycle Trip! We're waving goodbye to the flatlands and heading straight for the incredible mountain twisties of Bulgaria. This leg of the journey brings stunning views, unexpected detours, and, as always, a bit of roadside drama! The ride takes us through some truly breathtaking, yet visibly aged, regions where the communist era definitely left its mark. In this episode: A nightmarish roadside repair on Peter's Harley (and the best line of the trip: "never ride without a rubber!"). We ditch the main road and tackle a steep track to reach the incredible Monument of Liberty at St. Nicholas Peak (Shipka). We endure some truly "local cuisine" (i.e., McDonald's in an industrial estate). One of the team (Peter) has to leave the adventure early.
