Phillips Paganini - Sanfilippo Foundation
1912 Philipps Pianella Paganini - Violin-Piano Style 3 First of a series highlighting some of the Automatic Music Instruments in the Sanfilippo Collection (a Private Estate in Barrington Hills, Illinois). Note: as we zoom in, you'll hear machine sounds normally not heard, as access panels would be closed during normal operations. We wanted you to see inside and close up. You can follow along with the holes on the roll as it plays the notes. The selected song is, Ziguenerweisen - Violin-Solo Op 20 - by Sarasate. The signage featured is courtesy of Restoration Specialist Art Reblitz (Reblitz Restorations, Colorado Springs, CO). Of special note is the previous owner, Alex Jordan, who you may know built the House on the Rock in Wisconsin. This machine is currently located in the foyer next to the theater doors. The lovely tapestry is a rare feature (as opposed to typical art glass fronts in much of the Sanfilippo Collection). We hope you enjoy it. Stay tuned to our FaceBook page for more upcoming videos highlighting the Collection and more.
