Philipps Monster Paganini from the Krughoff collection plays "Always"

July 2015 Philipps Monster Paganini from the Krughoff collection plays "Always". The Monster Paganini was restored from many original parts, with reproduction cabinet, by Mechanische Musikwerke Manufaktur GmbH, 2000 (Rüdesheim, Germany). The instrument contains 625 pipes and 44 harmonium reeds. It is believed to be the largest surviving instrument (pipe count): Melody: 78 (2 sets of 39) loud violins, 78 (2 sets of 39) soft violins, 39 each of high violins, cellos, clarinets, piccolos and trumpets; 27 each of flutes and flageolets Accompaniment: 18 each of violins, high violins, gedeckts, and piccolos Bass: 26 each of bass cellos, bass violins, gedeckts, bassoons and trombones (source: Arthur Reblitz' The Golden Age of Automatic Musical Instruments) Special thanks to Jim & Sherrie Krughoff for their hospitality.
