These Arcade Games Felt Amazing… Until They Came Home
🕹️ My Favourite Arcade Games (1983–1991) – C64 & Amiga Ports Reviewed 🌐 Full games info, manuals & downloads: 👉 https://www.cheekycommodoregamer.co.uk This video looks at some of my favourite arcade games from the 80s, and how they were ported to the Commodore 64 and Amiga. These classic arcade games were designed for powerful machines, but when they came home, the experience often changed significantly. This video covers titles like Dragon’s Lair, Out Run, After Burner, Space Harrier, R-Type, Golden Axe, Double Dragon, Rolling Thunder, and Street Fighter, comparing the original arcade versions with their Commodore 64 and Amiga ports. Some of these ports try to recreate the arcade spectacle, while others take a completely different approach to make the games work on the hardware. In some cases, that leads to a more playable experience — in others, it highlights just how difficult it was to bring arcade games onto home systems. Across the Commodore 64 and Amiga, you’ll see how changes in speed, visuals, sound, and gameplay structure affect each version, and why some of these arcade ports still hold up better than others today. 💬 Which arcade game did you love the most — and did the home version live up to it? ▶️ MORE VIDEOS YOU MAY ENJOY • 50 Essential Commodore 64 Games – Best C64... • 25 Hardest C64 Games Ever Made – You Will ... • C64 vs ZX Spectrum — The Truth About These... • Commodore 64 Budget Games – Incredible C64... • Banned C64 Games: Germany’s Secret Blacklist • You Never Forget Your First Amiga Game… | ... • 50 Best Commodore 64 Games of 1985?
