Painting In the Spirit of Gabriele Munter - Bold color, strong outlines & simples shapes
Yes! We are celebrating the new Gabriele Munter show at the Guggenheim with this exercise. Munter has long been due this retrospective and those of us at The Painting School couldn't be more excited about this show. Want to capture the essence of your subject while not getting bogged down by pesky details or paint a boring painting full of dull color relationships? Try to paint like Munter. When you simplify your shapes and paint those shapes with bold colors, you can then unify them with a solid dark line. Try it!
