The problem is that the method I demonstrated for repairing the breather helps adjust its lag, but doesn't solve the noise issue. This doesn't make much of a difference, of course, but I'd like everything to work properly and not make any noise. Therefore, I'll solve the problem completely by replacing the stock Ural motorcycle breather with a crankcase ventilation valve from a Toyota Yaris (part number: 12204-23011). I also purchased a vacuum booster valve from an AvtoVAZ car, which has similar functionality, as a cheaper alternative. I'll be installing these valves through the stock plastic exhaust elbow. If you heat it up a bit with a hair dryer until it's flexible, you can insert a Toyota or VAZ valve into it—they have the same diameter. Both valves fit perfectly and look great. To prevent crankcase gases from staining my pants with oil droplets, I bought a fuel hose from the same AvtoVAZ and attached it to the exhaust pipe of the Toyota valve. This will allow the crankcase gases to be directed where I want them, and my pants will stay clean. In my previous video, I asked experts why the Ural engine's camshaft isn't centered relative to the camshaft seal. The answer was simple. The crankcase casting is slightly crooked, causing the camshaft bearing bore to be offset slightly up and to the right. This is precisely the direction in which the camshaft is offset relative to the seal. The only way to assemble everything properly and prevent the camshaft seal from leaking is to enlarge the mounting holes in the front timing cover and center it relative to the camshaft seal. I did this using a slightly larger drill bit. I also replaced the stock countersunk bolts with more modern flat-head Allen bolts. All this allowed me to adjust the front timing cover relative to the camshaft so that the gap between it and the seal is uniform throughout. ____________________________ ABOUT THE "SANYA CHYOTODEL" CHANNEL _____________________________ As you might guess, they called me that because I'm always making something.
