In this first episode of Season 2 the People of Penang Podcast, we had the pleasure of speaking with Quah Seng Sun, a remarkable figure who started his career as a journalist at the National Echo before moving into a pioneering role in the banking sector at Ban Hin Lee Bank. He is also Chairman and Trustee of Swee Cheok Tong (Seh Quah Kongsi). He joined Moe and Eugene to discuss his incredible 32-year run as a chess columnist for The Star — for which he is especially well known — his achievements as a FIDE International Arbiter, and his dedicated work as a historian preserving the legacy of the Penang Free School.
