Petrophysical Evaluation of Shale-Laminated Sandstones, Part 1
Lecture Presentation: PGE358, Spring 2020. Instructor: Carlos Torres-Verdin, PhD, Professor, Hildebrand Department of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering, The University of Texas at Austin. This presentation (Part 1) describes the step-by-step procedure typically used to assess the storage properties of shale-laminated sandstones. Part 2 of the presentation will be a hands-on demonstration of the calculations performed with well logs acquired in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico using the method introduced in Part 1.
