Dammastock (3630 m) via Ostrippe (East Face) - Highest Peak in Central Switzerland

Ascent of the Dammastock in the Uri Alps on 19th July 2024 with a climbing partner from the SAC Mountain Club. We chose the interesting combined ascent through the east face, which included a glacier ascent and around 10 pitches of rock climbing to the highest peak of Central Switzerland. We started our ascent from the Damma Hut in Canton Uri and traversed over to descend the mighty Rhone Glacier into the Canton Wallis. The climb is classified as fairly difficult (AD+), involving rock climbing of grade III on partly questionable rock and ascending steep glaciers.
