ALDER LAKE May 18 2026

Alder Lake 5-18-26 We were fishing by 10am and first bite at 10:05am. We had our limit of trout by 12. Unfortunately, no kokanee but they were barging out the fingerling kokanee past the island into the lake so maybe in 2027 or 2028. It was mostly sunny but there was a breeze that caused a hindrance for trolling. The water temperature was 60. We had fish on downriggers and longlined but we had to put a bit more weight on. My son added another split shot and I was using leaded line and so I went out 49 feet. We went down 25 feet on the downriggers. We used corn and worms as bait. Trying for trolling speeds of 1.2-1.6mph. My son had a surprise of catching 2 smallmouth bass. The lake was almost full at 1203.88. Since we had to stop fishing for trout, I thought maybe we could try for crappie. Regrettably, I don’t know how so we didn’t even get a bite. We quit at 1pm.
