Clear Lake 6 28 26

Clear Lake 6-28-26 I like to go to Alder when I can but I checked the lake level website and it said the launch was closed. So, Bo and I went to Clear Lake instead. It was breezy the whole time we were there. The weather was cloudy and cool. The water temperature, 71, was warmer than the air. We started at 8am with immediate fish on. Then the bite slacked off then came back so I think we were trolling through schools. My son had a series of lost fish and I wonder if it might have been sunfish. Or even the bass I saw. We were mostly 30-46 feet on the downrigger. Our speed was 1.1-1.8mph. Then about 11am the batteries for the trolling motor died with the motor deployed so my son had to manually stow it. This was the first time that has happened. These are new LifePO4 batteries. I had been out twice before and they registered 40% when we started. I thought we had enough time for my usual 4 hour trip. I was wrong. We came home and Amazon had delivered the 2 bank charger which my son installed. Batteries were charged in less than 24hours.
