Abandoned Valentines Lodge + Bonus Exploring - Assateague Island National Seashore

Wow what a day exploring the abandoned hunting lodge, Valentines. This lodge was built in 1964 and was part of the government take over in 1968. It was a private lodge with wealthier people hunting on it's 169 acre property. Not only did we explore Valentines, we went to explore an area I've been wanting to go to. I found a image in Google Earth a few years back and we had the chance to go check it out. Along the way we found a lot of debris, with reason to believe this was the location of Scott's Hotel. **I found out from the Park Service the wood square with the stakes in it measures salinity levels in the salt marsh.
