Mt Evan Thomas - A Difficult Scramble

August 28, 2021 3077 m max elevation. 11.7 Km total distance. Ascending we took the Kanes route via the Grizzly Peak saddle to Evan Thomas. We avoided the downclimb and upclimb at the crux by traversing it upfront. Eric found it manageable although a challenged for someone like me who is not gifted with height. The 2 cm snow shower from a night before did not offer any challenge and added to the outstanding scene along the ridge. We descended via a huge gulley (used by the first ascenders in 1954), followed the creek for a little bit and gained elevation again back to the actual trail. This summit doesn't seem to see a visitor very often as the register was almost half empty with the earliest entry back in 1995.
