Dr. Grażyna Bastek, art historian and curator of Italian painting at the National Museum in Warsaw, returns to Art Conversations. She lectures at the University of Warsaw and the Theatre Academy. Her specialty is modern art and the painting techniques of the Old Masters, but she easily transcends the boundaries of eras and art schools. She is the author of articles, essays, and several books in which she teaches how to look at and read paintings. Her latest book, "Conversations of Images" (PWN, 2025), is a collection of dialogues between works by past and contemporary artists. "Conversations of Images" became the pretext for our conversation, after which I was reassured that there is no exhaustion in talking about art ;) Ms. Grażyna Bastek talks about the new edition of her book (spectacular!), about her conversations with paintings, and whether there are any paintings in her life that have already said everything, and all the words between them have already been spoken.
