JAK KOMPONUJE SIĘ MUZYKĘ DLA TEATRU? Dominik Strycharski sztuki robi rozmowa #104 | podcast o sztuce

My interviewee is Dominik Strycharski – composer, recorder player, vocalist, improviser, performer, and journalist. He plays and composes contemporary jazz, in many electric and acoustic incarnations, contemporary music, electronic music, post-hip-hop, noise, and various types of improvised music. He also works with contemporary vocal styles and is one of the few in Poland to play modern recorders. He is self-taught, supported by studies in Music Education at the University of Silesia in Cieszyn. He also composes music for films and plays, co-creating over 90 theater productions, and has received the Polityka Passport Award in the theater category. The pretext for our meeting and conversation about music is the play "A Streetcar Named Desire," directed by Tomasz Cymerman, which will premiere on March 27, 2026, at the Witkacy New Theater in Słupsk. Dominik is the composer of the music for this performance. We talk extensively about this work, but also about Dominik's creative work in general. Our conversation also reveals that not everyone is irritated by the sound of a fork sliding across a plate... (weird, but okay ;)) This conversation was created in collaboration with the Witkacy Theatre in Słupsk.
