Crude oil dewatering with GEA centrifuges

Removing water and solids from crude oil with traditional gravity settlers and strainers gets progressively harder as crudes become denser, more viscous, and more laden with solids and salts. Centrifugal separators spin at high-speed to remove water, salt and solids from oil efficiently and effectively. Due to the high separation efficiency, the centrifuges have no trouble separating the high viscosity oil from the water, even though the API grade of the oil is low.
