With every finger pointing, contradiction finding protagonist of an Ace Attorney game, there always comes a quirky, varying degree of helpful co-consul by their side. The assistants of Ace Attorney have a lot in common, with the most notable trend among them being the fact that nearly all of them suffer from very dark and tragic backstories, and the way that they are able to overcome the trauma gained from those backstories is almost always a defining aspect of their respective character arcs.
