(B-Series) Federal Signal Thunderbolt 1003 Siren Test | Full Alert | Falls City, NE | 8/7/21

Location: Richardson County Courthouse System: Richardson County Test time: 1st Saturday of the month at 10 AM Enthusiasts present: Tommy (Tommy's Sirens & Aviation), Brandon (ShowMeSirens130) On our way back home from the KSMO trip, we decided to catch this unrecorded B-series 1003 in Falls City. After seeing some photos that a few other enthusiasts got of this thing yesterday, we almost ended up ditching our plans and going elsewhere, because it appeared as though the wire going to the antenna was cut, but we called the county beforehand and asked if this thing has been sounding recently and they said yes, so we decided to risk it. Thankfully, this thing roared to life right at 10. For some reason, I had a weird feeling it would be reverse-wired, and somehow I was right. Despite being reversed, it was still quite punchy; peaked at 109.8 dBC from approximately 300 feet away. Also, the area this is in had some pretty nice reverb. It was nice to get an unrecorded 'bolt (let alone a B-series 1003) during this trip, especially after our disappointment in Horton. Enjoy!
