Shillingstone Station 60th Anniversary of Closure Commemoration - 7th March 2026

A fifteen minute video of a visit that I made to Shillingstone station on Saturday 7th March 2026 during their open weekend to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the closure of the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway. It was a grey, misty day with rain in the air but that did not dampen the enthusiasm of the volunteers nor the enjoyment of the many visitors who turned up. The refreshment room was especially popular with long queues, however, the tea and pasty were well worth the wait, I must say. It was a great event and congratulations are in order to all concerned. Here's to the next 60 years!
