Hollycombe Steam Festival 2026

The Hollycombe Festival of Steam has returned once again at the Hollycombe Steam In The Country Museum. In this years event coverage is Quite Special as it is the Museums 75th Anniversary and the Feature for this year is the less well know engine maker Barrows & Company Limited of Banbury where few engines survived one of which No.1601 hadn't been steamed in 100 Years this being its first outing since restoration. The portable is also a reverse portable where the flywheel is at the back of the engine instead of the front there was two of these in steam at the show possibly a world's first since the are so rare. We take a look at many engines driving about the show including Traction Engines, Steam Rollers and Steam Wagons we then take a look at Engines in the Rain not captured much on film we follow a ploughing engine into the field and see the work that goes into maneuvering on in heavy rain conditions. Then the Main Feature of the Event the Barrows & Co Display with 3 Barrows in Steam Two of which are of the Reverse Portable Type inside the tent there is all the known information about the Small Company and other products they produced. Then the next engine is the Only known survivor of an incredibly rare make a 1hp Nicholson Portable Engine this also being the first rally it has ever attended. We then move onto the Log Sawing and Wood Chopping Displays powered by various Steam Engines. Finally we move onto the impressive portable display of all different shapes, sizes and makes and finishing off with a Model Steam Engine Display.
