Zermatt to Cervinia | Matterhorn Glacier Crossing via Klein Matterhorn | Switzerland to Italy

My journey from Zermatt to Cervinia was an unexpected adventure in mid-winter! With the newly opened “Alpine Crossing” cableway, it was supposed to be an easy trip with a series of gondola rides. I’d been planning to visit my friend who lives on the Italian side. However, 2 days before my departure, I found out that “Alpine Crossing” between Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and Testa Grigia was closed until April due to maintenance work. My new plan was to meet my friend at Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and walk across the glacier together with a harness and rope! Traversing the high alpine landscape with the view of the southern face of the Matterhorn was unforgettable! What an incredible journey from Switzerland to Italy!
