And that happens ALL the time in Mexico 🇲🇽 We use popular, historical, affectionate names… and when someone from abroad uses them, we automatically become certified tour guides. It’s like a national sport: ✨ “It’s not the Angel… it’s the Monument to Independence.” ✨ “It’s not Bellas Artes… it’s the Palace of Fine Arts.” ✨ “It’s not CU… it’s University City.” But in the end, that mix between the official and the popular is part of the identity. That’s how they talk, that’s how they live, that’s how they tell their story.
