Choral Evensong in thanksgiving for the life of Queen Elizabeth II (25th September 2022) The English text with my Chinese translation: I vow to thee, my country, all earthly things above, 吾國，勝俗世萬物，我向汝起誓言， Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love: 惟願全心盡衷意，將愛深情敬獻： The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test, 此愛無怨亦無悔，此愛不懼試煉， That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best; 此愛是我至寶貴，悉傾陳列祭壇； The love that never falters, the love that pays the price, 此愛堅固不動搖，此愛不吝血汗， The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice. 此愛至死而後已，固我心之所願。 And there's another country I've heard of long ago, 又有彼遠國巍巍，吾輩久已聲聞， Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know; 知者識此國至偉，慕者奉若至親； We may not count her armies, we may not see her King; 其兵或難盡計數，其君或難找尋； Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering; 其城爲信心所築，以受難作榮勳； And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase, 其疆閃耀默展拓，蓋因聖徒忠魂， And her ways are ways of gentleness and all her paths are peace. 其道所依皆仁愛，終途俱往平安。
