PSHE Education (Personal wellbeing) - how an effective programme enables young people to develop and achieve (Sweyne Park School) In this video clip the Headteacher offers a powerful and comprehensive rationale for putting PSHE education at the centre of achieving the Every Child Matters outcomes and in realising the schools ongoing commitment to the role of PSHE education in school improvement and raising achievement. The PSHE education coordinator makes the case for a planned programme of PSHE education which is taught by a specialist team. A case is made for the place of PSHE education in supporting community cohesion, beginning in the classroom. The lesson illustrates the importance of starting from where children are, by the use of questions, and recognises the need to draw from the local context in order to ensure learning is relevant.
