Two SM Supermalls in Zamboanga City - Walking Tour (July 11, 2026)

SM City Mindpro was previously as Mindpro Citimall known as the local premier mall in Zamboanga City in 1996, until SM Prime acquired 70% of the lot in 2016, which remains 30% to local Mindpro Retail Inc. as joint venture agreement and transformed local mall to a national brand as “SM City Mindpro” which opened on December 08, 2020 during the pandemic and poised as the first SM Mall in Zamboanga City & Zamboanga Peninsula Region. When the first SM marketing became successful operation, SM Prime bought 2.5 hectare lot along Mayor Vitaliano Agan Ave. in Camino Nuevo as SM Prime decided to build another mall but bigger which was held its groundbreaking ceremony on February 23, 2023, and it was officially opened on March 20, 2026 as “SM City Zamboanga” and it became the second SM Mall in the city, 8th in Mindanao, & 90th nationwide. In terms of their structure & interior designs, SM City Mindpro is a modern & high-tech standard mall, SM City Zamboanga brings aesthetic design as semi-premier inspired or “ semi SM Aura-vibes” which is looks more luxurious mall in the Region and known as the Mindanao’s most vibrant SM Mall, with its biophilic indoor garden design at Sky Plaza third-level floor with Mindanao’s tallest 3D waterfall at scenic glass elevator & LED 3D Billboard outside the mall.
