But then, an unseasonable snowfall recently brought us back to the cold winter. We're in our 30s and take great care of our health (lol). Good evening. This is Take 3. This time, we're on a "salaryman's day off," so In Kuwana City, we headed toward the Kuwana City General Medical Center from Kuwana Station on the Kintetsu Nagoya Line. Walking straight from the medical center to the street where Kakinoya City Hall is located, we found ourselves at the crosswalk where we stopped off at Arakiya! The interior of the store has a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere, and it was apparently renovated from a former greengrocer. Since their main business is a tekiya (shooting gallery), the interior is filled with noren curtains! The menu is displayed clearly and boldly, making you feel like you're at a festival! ♪ The menu is packed with the quintessential festival fare, including teppan dishes like takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and yakisoba, skewers like yakitori, beef skewers, and kushikatsu, and festival staples like candy apples and tamames. After much deliberation, we decided on the following! Order Menu * -------------------------------------------------- ◇ Marbled Beef Skewers - ¥600 This is definitely something you'd find at a festival! The large pieces of beef skewered on the skewers give it a "little luxury" feel! The slightly sweet sauce, combined with the sweetness of the meat's fat, doubles the deliciousness! The tenderness of the meat is also appetizing. And yet, we think the price is reasonable! ◇Takoyaki (6 pieces) - ¥350 After all, the best part of a festival is the takoyaki! And best of all, they're huge!! So you have to break them open before eating. They're that big! If you get too carried away, you'll burn your mouth because they're so piping hot! (lol) Even after you break them open, they'll stay hot for a while, so let them cool a little before putting them in your mouth. They melt in your mouth and are so delicious. A huge octopus greets you from inside. Again, ¥300 is a bargain, so if you're buying them at your local supermarket, definitely stop by here! It's absolutely delicious! ◇Okonomiyaki - ¥400 Sauce and mayonnaise smeared right on top of the piping hot dough! Just this alone is enough to get your mouth watering! 🤤 When they're plopped on a hot iron plate, it's hard to resist, right? After all, flour-based foods have to be eaten while they're hot, lol. And this was absolutely delicious! The sweet sauce was irresistible! The crispness of the cabbage and the thickness of the dough were a perfect match! You can only get this here! I'm honestly amazed at how good it tastes for such a low price! ◇Yakisoba - 300 yen Pipeline-quality fried noodles served on a hot plate. A soft-boiled egg perched in the middle. Ah, as expected from Tekiya! It looks so delicious even before I eat it! The portion is just right for one person, but it's so cheap (lol). The slightly sweet sauce mixes with the egg, making the soba even more delicious. Before I knew it, it was gone! Next time I come, I'll definitely eat two servings by myself (lol). ◇Negiyaki - 350 yen Just fried dough, green onions, and eggs—so simple yet so delicious! The seasoning is light and refreshing, thanks to the soy sauce! My mom says she used to eat this all the time. But for us, it was the first time we'd ever tried negiyaki with an egg on top.
