Bilbao - Metro ride from Plentzia

Line 1 of Bilbao Metro runs more than 25km outside of the city to the town of Plentzia at the coast of the Gulf of Biscay. The town itself with its beautiful coast and many restaurants is a popular holiday destination for locals. The railway from Bilbao to Plentzia opened in 1893 and was converted in 1995 to metro L1 of Bilbao. The route to Bilbao starts off as more or less rural railway line, quickly to make its war through suburbs, industrial areas to the city centre where it disappears underground.
