Con la comida SI se juega | Los olvidados del temblor: hambre, ranchos y memoria en Venezuela

🎙️ Food Is a Game | The Tremor of Hunger: Venezuela, Poverty, and Nutrition When we think of an earthquake, we imagine collapsed buildings and streets filled with rubble. But there are other tremors that don't make the front pages of newspapers: hunger, poverty, food insecurity, and the uncertainty of millions of people living in highly vulnerable conditions. In this episode of Food Is a Game, I share a very personal story. As a Venezuelan, I relive the 1967 Caracas earthquake that I experienced as a child and reflect on how that experience shaped my understanding of nutrition. As a nutritionist, I also recall my work in the hills of Antímano, where I witnessed firsthand the reality of many families who struggled every day to put food on the table. We'll talk about: 🥣 How poverty affects nutrition. 🏚️ The reality of the barrios and shantytowns in Venezuela. 🧠 The impact of hunger on physical and emotional health. 🤝 How to help responsibly and consciously. ❤️ Why food is much more than nutrients: it also speaks of dignity, social justice, and opportunities. This episode is an invitation to look beyond the statistics and understand that behind every plate of food there is a story. Thank you for listening. Food is a game.
