In today’s video, I’m clearing out weeds and removing volunteer plants so I can finally get my broad beans — grown as part of my seed compost experiment — into the ground. Of course, it wouldn’t be gardening without a little drama. I run into a problem that stops me in my tracks, and you’ll have to watch to see how I deal with it. I also take a moment to chat about my perennial kale, which has decided to flower. Is it okay to leave it? I share what I’m doing and why. Nothing goes to waste here: the dandelions I pull from the beds get chopped and dropped around my young plum tree to give it a natural nutrient boost.
