Hinter den Kulissen der ältesten Zahnradbahn Deutschlands!

What an unforgettable day at the Drachenfelsbahn in Königswinter! In this video, I take you on my ride up, chat with the drivers, get a behind-the-scenes look at the workshop—and even venture under a train! A true adventure for railway and technology fans. The Drachenfelsbahn is not only a popular tourist destination—it is also the oldest cog railway still in operation in Germany. The track is approximately 1.5 km long and climbs approximately 220 meters in elevation. The maximum gradient is 20% (i.e., 200 ‰). The traction current is 750 volts, and the Riggenbach rack and pinion system is used. The train operates every 30 minutes, or every 15 minutes during peak demand. The journey time for the entire route is approximately 8 minutes. Since its opening in 1883, it has connected the old town of Königswinter with the Siebengebirge mountains and ends just below the Drachenfels peak. #Drachenfelsbahn #CogwheelRailway #Königswinter #Railway #Technology #Workshop #MountainRailway #Germany #RailwayVlog #RailwayFans 📌I would be delighted if you would become a channel member.
