Nigeria has sternly warned South Africa over renewed xenophobic attacks after the June 28 murders of two Nigerian citizens, Emeka Charles Iroegbu and Musa Yunana Joe (Big Joe). Abuja demands immediate investigations, prosecution of perpetrators, and stronger protection for Nigerians abroad. Expressing concern over rising violence and alleged misconduct by South African security forces, Nigeria urges its citizens there to remain calm, vigilant, and to avoid retaliation while diplomatic efforts continue.
