Rebels in Indonesia's easternmost region of Papua have released a video claiming they shot dead an American pilot and burned a civilian aircraft, describing the attack as a message to the United States government. In the footage, fighters are seen carrying rifles and axes while raising the Morning Star flag, a symbol of Papuan independence. The video was shared by the separatist group TPNPB. Reuters said it could not independently verify the location or the date of the footage.
