Canada Refuses To Let America Rewrite His Sacrifice

Nicholas Dale was a Canadian pilot from Sooke, British Columbia. He went to Colorado to help Americans fight the Gold Mountain Fire, and he lost his life while doing it. But when Republican Congressman Jeff Hurd posted his tribute, he somehow forgot to mention one very important detail. Nicholas Dale was Canadian. The message praised his courage and his sacrifice, but the photo was filled with American flags and the whole thing made it look like Nicholas was an American firefighter. He was not. And this is why so many Canadians are calling Jeff Hurd out. Canada sent help. A Canadian gave his life helping American communities. Yet when it came time to honour him, the Canadian part of the story disappeared. In this video, I go through the responses from Canadians who noticed exactly what was happening. Because this is not about asking for applause. It is about making sure Nicholas Dale gets the recognition he deserves as a Canadian who died helping the United States. America burns, Canada sends help. Canada burns, America sends complaints and threats. And with everything happening right now between Canada and the United States, including the US Canada Trade War, the US Tourism Decline, travel, tourism and the wider economy, Canadians are no longer staying quiet when our contribution is ignored.
