Canada's pipeline debate has entered a new phase. The political momentum is undeniable, but will the economics support billions of dollars in new oil sands production and export pipelines? In this interview, National Observer columnist Max Fawcett argues that politics can clear regulatory barriers, but it can't force oil companies to invest in projects that don't make financial sense.
