This Thai movie is so freaking good! Who knew a story about taking exams could feel this harrowing to watch. A brilliant high school student orchestrates an elaborate exam-cheating scheme that escalates into an international operation, exposing the pressures of academic competition and class disparities. Bad Genius was directed by Nattawut Poonpiriya (Countdown, One for the Road, Bangkok Traffic Love Story [art director]). The main cast includes Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying (Happy Old Year, Faces of Anne, Hunger) as Lynn, a gifted student who masterminds the cheating operation. Eisaya Hosuwan (Senior, Hormones: The Series, Inhuman Kiss) plays Grace, Lynn’s best friend who recruits her for the exam scam. Teeradon Supapunpinyo (The Stranded, Ghost Lab, Homestay) appears as Pat, Grace’s wealthy boyfriend and co-conspirator. James Teeradon (Project S: Side by Side, Great Men Academy, Man Suang) portrays Bank, a rival student whose own smarts become critical to the operation.
