Seated Exercises For Seniors : 5 Upper Body Chair Exercises With A Towel!
Join me as we practice 5 upper body seated exercises for seniors using an ordinary hand towel. Grab a towel, roll it up, and find a supported and comfortable position with a long spine. We get right to it and begin with a bicep curl followed by a chest press. Next we will hold our towel as we make circles forward and backward, followed by a bicycle movement. We finish up our upper body seated exercises for seniors with a tricep press. For all these exercises we can add a bit of resistance by pulling the towel more taut, then we can focus on the muscles that we are using. Remember to always go at your own pace. Focus on the breath first, and then the movements. I create my chair yoga sequences and exercises while keeping in mind common mobility restrictions. I eliminate any spinal flexion in the seated position as well as full rotation of the spine in the poses. Be sure to always do what is right for you.
