Open Ocean Sailing, Ireland to Madeira | Ep. 201

We have three significant legs of ocean crossings in order to get from northern Europe to the Caribbean Islands before the end of the calendar year! In this episode, we make the first of these large hops. We depart from Kinsale harbor on the south coast of Ireland and set off on our 1200 mile journey to the Portuguese island of Madiera, which lies 380 miles west of the coast of Morocco. We are at sea for just over nine days and we experience quite a varied array of conditions from rough and wild to lightly rollie. We show off lots of sunset shots, we share views of the wide-open ocean vistas and we speak about our watch schedules and general life at sea. Join us next time as we spend a couple days exploring wonderful Madeira and then set off for the 280 mile sail to Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands. Thanks for watching!
