George Elvira (Hebrew Hill) is a Torah observant Christian who believes that all people in covenant with God should keep the law of Moses. He runs the Ashrei Fellowship of North Idaho (ashreiassembly.com), the stated goal of which is to “keep the commandments of God, magnify the Torah, and make it honorable, in the spirit of Yeshua’s teachings.” George works in finance as a back office manager, and is the proud father of 6 children with his wife of 14 years. These include an unwavering adherence to the straightforward (but not literal!) meaning of the Torah; the rejection of false philosophies such as Pharisaic / Rabbinical Judaism, Christianity / Messianic Judaism, and Western subjective morality; and the belief that, while Hakhamim can be facilitators in helping others understand the Torah, they are not to play the role of dictator or “Pope”.
