Had some lug left over from a few days before, so it was a case of use it or lose it. Even though I haven’t fished a neap tide in years, I thought it was worth giving it a go. Fished a local mark I know well and have had some of my best results from in the past, so confidence in the location was there. Conditions looked promising on the surface — overcast sky, a strong south-westerly wind, and a bit of surf pushing in. But as always, looks can be deceiving… Despite the movement on top, the neap tide meant there wasn’t much happening underneath, and that lack of current really showed. Gave it a proper go with a range of rigs, distances, and baits, but sometimes the conditions just don’t line up.
