Under medical supervision, Jenke will starve for weeks and lose weight drastically. He will experience firsthand what it means to lose weight against all reason and, in doing so, put his own health at risk. What drives people to do this? How harmful is starvation and how do the organs react? Jenke meets those affected and learns frightening details about the disease. For example, the tricks patients use to outsmart their doctors and their own bodies to lose even more weight, and how they motivate each other in WhatsApp groups. However, a disturbed relationship with food doesn't necessarily lead to anorexia. "Overeating" is also a symptom of an eating disorder. Jenke meets young obesity patients and accompanies them on their difficult journey back to normal eating habits.
