In this Black-Comedy, local mortician Bernie (Black) befriends a mean-spirited widow (MacLaine) in what seems to everyone else as an unusual friendship. However, when Bernie kills her, he is thrust into a world of deception as he frantically tries to convince towns people that she is still very much alive.
