Der Langrisser (SFC JP) Playthrough --- Stage 16 (Imperial Route)

Curse you and your inevitable but incredibly scripted and predictable betrayal, Boser! Anyway. Boser's forces aren't many but they are pretty tough if you don't know what you're doing, especially since both Boser and Sonia are able to cast Meteor... and the latter does so with the Dark Rod equipped which further doubles her Magic Damage. Any no, you never get the Dark Rod in any route. Buy it off of the Super Secret Shop. Fortunately, the latter is also a non-issue and can be chased away in the very first turn by just walking Rouga up to Sonia to convince her to leave. There are also two Vampire Lords with Specters and Ballistas in that center pillbox, guarded by a Stone Golem... and they, too, cast Meteor. Great. Once you make it into the section where Boser is, Jessica, Lester and Cherie show up. In comparison to the Chaos forces, they are very tough, but will make slow progress due to the AI, giving you plenty of time to deal with Boser. Jessica and Cherie in particular will just stand there and cast Meteor and Earthquake against Est and Ost, and Cherie as a result will run out of MP very, very quickly and end up standing there for multiple turns trying to recover. Lester is just a pain. His Command Aura gives pretty insane bonuses to his Grenadiers even without any Necklaces. While clearing the map of enemies does give a hefty amount of gold, it's probably not worth the aggrevation to take them on. Just kill Boser at any time to win the stage; He too, however, has pretty high AT due to holding Alhazard but only average DF, so ranged attacks (namely from High Elves; Ballistas will die quickly due to those Meteors Boser keeps throwing at you unless you have the Resist spell, and if that doesn't get them, the Dark Guards will if they're not covered by another unit) are recommended if your Elwin isn't buff enough to take him down directly. The Dark Guards he has are basically just Chaos Route Grenadiers and don't require any especial processing to deal with, so use cavalry units on them. After the stage is beaten, Boser escapes, and Egbert asks you who to pursue first. Answer 'Yes' to pursue Boser first; Otherwise you'll go after the Army of Light first. Doing so gets you Alhazard, while chasing after the Army of Light first gets you an extra final boss to fight.
