Chasing Milwaukee Road 261 on the Twin Cities & Western [4K]

On October 5th, Milwaukee Road 261 operated an all day excursion between Chanhassen and Glencoe, Minnesota on the Twin Cities and Western Railroad. This is 261's first time running outside the Twin Cities since these same trips in 2022, which I was fortunate enough to see (    • Milwaukee Road 261 and the 2022 Gourmet Ex...   ). While there was passing rain for most of the day, the 261 crew did a good job putting on a show. After turning around just west of Glencoe, the train unloaded and did a photo runby for the passengers. Headed back east, Milwaukee Road E9 32A took the train back to Chanhassen. Once the passengers were unloaded, the train headed towards the Twin Cities and 261's shop in the heart of Minneapolis. Running over BNSF rails with a PTC exemption, 261 backed into the shop after a successful weekend of trips. Many thanks to the 261 crew and the TC&W for putting on a great weekend of steam power in Minnesota.
