300 Feet Dry Bore Well Revived in Just 3 Months | Rainwater Harvesting Success in Islamabad

A 300-foot-deep dry bore well in Islamabad has started producing water again after just three months of groundwater recharge. In this project, we developed two separate recharge pits—one for rooftop rainwater and another for ablution (wudu) water. Instead of letting valuable water go to waste, it was filtered and returned to the ground, helping replenish the underground aquifer. Today, this bore well is providing approximately 30 minutes of water, demonstrating how properly designed groundwater recharge systems can help restore depleted aquifers in suitable geological conditions. This is one of hundreds of successful recharge pits completed through our campaign across Pakistan to combat groundwater depletion and promote sustainable water management.
