What it's Like to Dive with a 40 Year Old Underwater Film Camera | Nikonos V

I shot my recent dive trip using a camera older than I am. What I learned and why I think you should try it too! Film is making a comeback on land. Why not bring it back underwater as well?! The Nikonos V is arguably the greatest underwater camera ever built. It is considered by many to have finest lenses available for underwater optics. The camera is amphibious making it far more portable than a housing system. And let's not forget the price! It can be had on eBay for under $500 while a full frame digital kit will easily set you back $5k or more. But of course, it's film. Which means you only have 36 chances to nail the shot in a dive and you won't get any feedback until the roll is developed weeks later. Still I found it a fun experience. And knowing I only had limited shots meant I was less trigger happy and could really enjoy my dive and hunt only for the best subjects.
