Morrowind Proved Me Wrong...

The Elder Scrolls is a series I have a complicated relationship with. Ever since I was young, Skyrim has always been one of my favorite games of all time for the ways its world captivated me in incredible ways. When I finally played its predecessor Oblivion this year with the release of the remaster, I found that it unfortunately did not live up to the expectations Skyrim had given it, partially due to some of its dated aspects. After playing Oblivion, many people were telling me I should give a try to an even older entry in the series, Morrowind. I was definitely reluctant and thought the game's hardcore nature and dated aspects would push me away. However, when I finally played it, I found myself pleasantly surprised that the experience was highlighted not by the dated systems, which were undoubtedly present, but instead the game's rich world and atmosphere. I have definitely grown to appreciate Morrowind through playing it, and while it's still rough around the edges, I can see why so many people love it.
